Subject:  OCCURRENCE REPORT

               BREACH OF ROAD PORTION AT KM 542-5 N-10(MCH).

                        It is stated that the existing Gwadar-Jiwani Road has breached at KM 542 on dated 23^rd November, 2013 at 5 am due to heavy passage of rain water. The dimensions of this breach are L=70, W=16m and D=6m (along with scouring). However, a settled (0.35m settlement) single cell culvert of 15.30x0x2.50 dimensions is already existed.

2.                     This is the third time annual breach of road at this location due to pressure of rain water. Though there are two bridges i.e. one single-span bridge of 1.28 KM away of this breach at location 54100 before the subject breach and the second 03-span bridge of 1.10 Km away of this breach at location 543+ after the subject breach. Both of these bridges also give passage to lot of rain water through them. Even then a lot of water volume comes from catchment area to this place, causing breach of the road.

3.                     The surrounding area of this breach has low level as compared to the area of both bridges.

4.                     In this regard it is suggested that an additional 05 cell culvert/ single span bridge may kindly be proposed along with pitching work of at least 300 m long of each side of this breach portion.

5.                     In this purpose, the Structural Expert may kindly be requested for visiting the site to find out a permanent solution of this one.

6.                     However, we have engaged/mobilized on emergency basis M/s Muhammad Umar Baloch, the pre- qualified/local area contractor for the restoration works of this breach portion of the road.
